Tribes

In the Old Testament, tribes were to worship together at one dedicated place. Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together, where the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, to the Testimony of Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord. Psalm 122:3-4

They offered a place of belonging to “strangers”.

God sets the solitary in families. Psalm 68:6a

“It shall be that you will divide it by lot as an inheritance for yourselves, and for the strangers who dwell among you and who bear children among you. They shall be to you as native-born among the children of Israel; they shall have an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. And it shall be that in whatever tribe the stranger dwells, there you shall give him his inheritance,” says the Lord God. Ezekiel 47:22-23

God pledged to prosper and protect the tribes.
He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none feeble among His trines. Psalm 105:37

Purposes of the Tribes:
* To help activate participants to connect with each other
* To provide fellowshipping opportunities on a smaller scale
* To make the church “feel” smaller
* To build bridges for active participants into the Sweet Home Experience and the church’s support systems.

The “12 Tribes of Sweet Home” are designed as a way to allow regular attenders to connect with each other on a smaller scale for the purposes of fellowship, family, and mutual encouragement.

Tribes are assigned when one has completed the New Members intake process. The deacon or tribe should make contact within the first 24-48 hours.

Touch Point Ministry

Whether you are in need of a church home, answers to questions you seek regarding your relationship in Christ, or a listening, loving ear to help you through the rough times of life, The Touch Point Ministry is here to demonstrate the love and learning of Christ, here on earth?
Touch Point assists the saved, the seekers, and the shoppers towards a declaration in Christ and to become an active participant in the Sweet Home experience.

Health Ministry

The Health Ministry seeks to educate the community while providing outreach, aid, and assistance for healing to our congregation and surrounding communities. We also provide appropriate first aid services to those who experience injuries or medical emergencies while attending worship services.

Baptism

What is baptism and why do I do it? Water Baptism is the outward confession of an inward experience; it is a public testimony. In Baptism, we stand before witnesses to confess our identification with the Lord.

Water Baptism identifies the believer with the Godhead, The Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

Jesus says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Water Baptism identifies the believer with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we should walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4

The work of the cross is God’s offer of life… Baptism is our acceptance.

Baby Dedication

“‘For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of him. Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.’ So they worshipped the Lord there.” 1 Samuel 1:27-28

When a child is dedicated “back” to the Lord, we are thanking God for giving us such a precious gift to steward over. In this, we recognize we cannot train our children without our heavenly Father and the community of faith. If you desire to have your child dedicated back to the Lord at our morning worship service, please fill out the Baby Dedication form and return to the church office.

Getting married? We praise God with you for the prayerful decision to enter into a lifetime covenant with your intended. If you are interested in having the ceremony at Sweet Home, please submit a Wedding Form.

Counseling

Do you need someone to talk to and gain godly wisdom about your private issue? Life can sometimes be difficult, and finding support can help. Call to schedule an appointment with our Senior Pastor or an Associate Pastor. We are here for you.

Homegoing

We are saddened by the loss of your loved one, but rejoice in their homegoing to be with the Lord. If we can be of any assistance to you during this difficult time, please contact the church office. We are available for your bereavement or funeral needs.
